Are you passionate about neuroscience? Do you want to make a difference in the community by helping us share that passion with people of all ages? There are many fun and rewarding ways to get involved in Brain Awareness Montreal’s activities, from giving presentations in schools during Brain Awareness Week, to working with a team to organize and host our events, or even being part of the leadership team throughout the year.
During Brain Awareness Week in mid-March, as many as 200 student volunteers give neuroscience-themed presentations in schools across Montreal. Each of these includes a short talk and a demonstration of a real cow brain! Volunteering for these presentations is an easy way to be part of Brain Awareness Montreal’s team, as no prior knowledge or experience is needed. We will provide all the training and presentation materials necessary. If you would like to find out more or to join our team of volunteers, you can sign up here starting in January 2016.
Brain Awareness Montreal’s 10 Committees help to organize all of our activities throughout the year. The committees, which typically include up to 10 members and 1 VP are active from November to April, and are each in charge of a specific event. You can sign up here to join the committee that interests you most.
The leadership of Brain Awareness Montreal is shared by our dedicated team of VPs, who work with each of the committees over the course of the year to coordinate our annual activities. Throughout their mandate from October to June, VPs meet regularly with their committee members, and with the other members of the leadership team to plan and execute their respective events. If you would like to join the VP team, let us know which committee or event interests you, and we will contact you for a short interview.
